Start with placement

Measure the space available for each monitor and check the manufacturer’s placement guidance. Include the desk or stands and the listening position in your plan.

Confirm what the price includes

Check whether the retailer lists one speaker or a pair. Allow for stands or isolation supports and the correct cables when comparing total setup costs.

Check the signal path

Confirm compatible connections between the interface or controller and the monitors. Consult the manual rather than assuming that every connector serves the same purpose.

Treat room claims cautiously

A published speaker measurement describes performance under particular test conditions. It does not establish the response at your listening position in a different room.
