Choose your software workflow
Check the exact controller model against the software developer’s supported hardware list. Confirm whether the needed software edition is included, unlocked by hardware, or requires an additional subscription.
Map every connection
List the connections you need for your intended setup: the sound system, headphones, a microphone, and any other sources. Verify output and input types in the controller manual.
Separate laptop and standalone use
Check the manufacturer’s documentation for which functions require a computer. A display or USB port does not, by itself, establish standalone operation.
Make portability a buying criterion
Compare dimensions and weight with the case, table, and transport you will actually use. Include the case and any required accessories in your budget.
